How to Unzip a File

The Keep Kids Safe bundled volume and workbook set is compressed, or “zipped.” This makes the file much smaller, for an easier, faster download for you. A file that is zipped has a .ZIP extension, or the image looks like a file folder with a zipper on it.

Windows Vista Users:

1. Right-click on the zipped file that you downloaded, and select Extract All.

2. It will ask you where you want to extract it. Hit “Browse” and select a location. Place it someplace easy to find again – like your Desktop.

Windows XP Users:

1. Double click on the zipped file that you downloaded. It will open in a window, much like a regular file folder would.

2. Look around that window for “Extract all files” or “Extract” – something like that. It will ask you where you want to extract them. Hit “Browse” and select a location. Place it someplace easy to find again – like your Desktop.

If you have an older Windows computer, you may need to download and install a free version of WinZip first.

Mac Users:

Most Macs come with a decompression tool already installed. Chances are, if you double click on the downloaded ZIP file, it will open for you to “unzip” it. Look for something that says “Extract” and when it asks where, put it somewhere easy to find, such as on your Desktop.

If you have an older Mac compuer, you may need to download and install a free version of Stuff-It Expander first.
